भारतात सध्या सहा अधिकृत अल्पसंख्यांक समुदाय आहेत - मुस्लिम, ख्रिस्ती, शीख, बौद्ध, पारशी आणि जैन. जैन समुदायाला 2014 मध्ये अल्पसंख्यांक समुदायाचा दर्जा देण्यात आला. अल्पसंख्यांक समुदायाची सूची तयार करण्यासाठी घटनादुरुस्तीची गरज नसते, हे केंद्र सरकारचे अधिकार आहे. अल्पसंख्यांक व्यवहार मंत्रालयाची स्थापना 2006 मध्ये झाली, 2009 मध्ये नाही. म्हणून फक्त विधान (a) बरोबर आहे.
